BIKINI SEASON

          Summer is the season most loved. It means fun, parties, barbeques, beaches and of course swimsuits. Swimsuits come in many different styles, colors and patterns. Certainly there is one that will suit your body type.

The Bikini
a regular two piece swimsuit

The strapless bandeau
a tube top but narrower, and the top with cups similar to a push up bra

The Tankini
It is a more conservative two piece swimsuit combining a tank top and a bikini bottom.

The monokini / cutout swimsuit
Similar to a bikini but is, technically a one piece. Wide at the bust and hips area, and slim at the middle giving the illusion of an hourglass figure

sheer fashion

         

Sheer fabric is back as one of hottest 2009 and 2010 fashion trends, and plenty of celebrities are wearing it. But don't worry, it's not all about tight, see-through tops, and dresses that scream 'look at me' as we saw in the 1990s. Run your eyes over the Spring / Summer 2009 and spring/summer 2010 runway collections and you'll find sheer fabrics used in a multitude of ways: tight sheer pieces, layers, and the much sought after delicate, feminine draping. And elegance really is the key to wearing the sheer fashion trend this year. While it was last at its most popular in the 1990s, it was in 2006 that it last hit our radar.

Knitted fashion are the next big trend for the coming autumn and fall 2009. If you think that hand made woolen sweater are for your grandmother think again, your very wrong. The style is catching up so fast that fashion freaks have incorporated it.The designers are being very creative with the wools and there is almost everything stylish from the scarfs to the sweaters and dresses to the stoles available in them. So, if you too want to get into the vibe and give a look of that very trendy and chic  in the coming winters, then get into some of these pieces that are sure to keep you warm and sexy.

Tartans are also called plaids, checkered clothes.. Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven cloth, now used in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. (Tartan is also known as plaid in North America, but in Scotland, a plaid is a tartan cloth slung over the shoulder or a blanket.)

My must haves are a plaid shirt to wear with leggings or jeans or a plaid skirt paired with a simple black, gray or white top.

 

 

80's trends are back

 

  

No neutral colors. In the ’80s, people were either crazy-bright and colorful or in severe all-black. The ’80s essentially boils down to these two concepts: a glittery bustier/party dress, a bright spandex dress. You can break these two pieces down into separates: just a full tutu-skirt or just a bustier top; a stretchy tube skirt or bright leggings. Once you have your ’80s piece, add some cool layers, like a white button-down knotted at the waist, a slouchy jean jacket, or blazer. Don’t forget some black tights or leggings. For shoes, try simple structured ballet flats or some sort of crushed lace-up boots. Go light on the jewelry, and let the focus be on the clothes. Add simple earrings, like hoops or studs, and leave it at that.

One of the biggest trends this season is having studs on just about everything—bags, dresses, jeans, jackets, accessories, and shoes. It’s a great add-on to any piece of clothing and is just as versatile as any ornament for fall. You can pull off this studded accent in different ways.

• Incorporate a rocker/biker look with matching leather and chains for a hardcore tough chick style.

• If you’re not up for that head-to-toe style but still want that edgy look, wear them in small doses like on cool gladiator sandals to give your outfit added oomph.

STEP 1: Bunch areas on old black jeans and pour a bit of Clorox on each. When you’re happy with the color, rinse out the bleach.
STEP 2: Sand the knees and the fronts of the thighs with heavy grit paper.
STEP 3: Slice the areas you want ripped and pick apart the fibers in the weave.
STEP 4: Machine wash and dry your version-twice. That distresses clothes even more.
